Jaguar has used Doshi Audio gear in our reference system. Like similar components we offer, such as Lamm and EAR, Doshi has a rare level of engineering design that makes it stand out as unique and special. The Doshi philosophy can be expressed in one word: balance. A balance of classical and cutting-edge technologies, of eastern and western sensibilities, of professional and residential design strengths.
What does performance mean to you? Is it simply a matter of sound quality, or is there more? At Doshi Audio, performance begins with sonic perfection but must also extend to ease of use, visual beauty, longevity, and the ability to flourish in the widest possible variety of systems.
After more than a decade of relentless refinement, the Doshi Monoblock Amplifier has reached a level of audio excellence that is remarkable. Taking full advantage of the impressive new KT150 Output Tube has enabled an increase in power but, more importantly, it has empowered us to fully implement the Doshi Design Philosophy, which entails using the simplest possible circuits in order to amplify the delicate audio signal without degradation. To create the most advanced circuitry available today, Doshi reached back to the „Golden Age“ of Tube Electronics and developed a thoroughly modern implementation of a classical tube circuit; namely, the Pentode Output. This topology enables Doshi to generate massive power with an absolute minimum of active gain stages. The V 3.0 delivers over 200 watts per channel but that specification can’t begin to convey the musical majesty that awaits Doshi owners. Connected to capable loudspeakers and fed a high quality signal, the Monoblocks deliver a level of detail, dynamics and pure palpability, which, conveys recorded music with greater realism than any other amplifier.
However, Performance begins with sound quality but doesn’t end there. Equipped with both both Single-ended (RCA) and Balanced (XLR) inputs, Doshi Monoblocks feature a 50kOhm input impedance. The result? Amplifiers that excel in virtually all systems, regardless of connectivity or electrical characteristics. Also residing on the back panel, the “Mute” function uses microprocessors to block signal at both input and output, facilitating cable changes and system maintenance. And since even esoteric stereo systems must now be "Control Friendly," an optically isolated 12 Volt Trigger Loop enables the amplifier to be turned on and off remotely.
Doshi understands that components must be seen as well as heard; therefore, considerable attention is paid to create products that are as beautiful to the eye as to the ear. The chassis of the Monoblock is decptively simple, as the Three Stage Decoupling (TM) technology virtually eliminates the influence of both external and internal resonances upon the amplifiers‘ performance. Inside the chassis, critical audio circuits are point-to-point wired and mounted on an acoustically isolated sub-chassis. The entire chassis is suspended from a ½" thick slab of DuPont Corian which, in turn, floats upon four vibration absorbing feet that are mechanically decoupled from the chassis. While competitors build their enclosures from mild steel and aluminum, Doshi uses extremely strong 14 gauge stainless steel to create a chassis that is mechanically and electrically inert; as a result, Doshi amplifiers exude quality while providing an ideal foundation for performance.
Elegantly simple, the Doshi Monoblock’s engraved aluminum front panel announces the quality of the circuitry within while facilitating output tube biasing and other critical functions. A variety of Powder Coat or chrome-plated finishes encourage the customer to tailor the amplifier to his/her tastes and room decor: a potential for personal expression which few competitors can equal. In another design flourish that all Doshi owners will hear—but few will ever see—the insides of the transformer covers are coated with an advanced sound-deadening paint developed to make nuclear submarines “Invisible!”
The Doshi Monblock is the culmination of decades of reasearch regarding circuit design, product longevity, resonance control, system compatibility, user-friendliness and aesthetic beauty. While many fine products excel in one or another aspect of performance, Doshi’s ability to deliver a completely satisfying ownership experience is unique . We hope you’ll agree.
